Paarl:Cape Valley Manor
Paarl was for all practical purposes the heart of the South African wine industry. It was the home of the KWV as well as the annual Nederburg Wine Auction where reputations of a vintage or an estate was deeply influenced. Gradually the focus shifted more south to Stellenbosch where Stellenbosch University gained a more prominent role in the South African wine industry with its viticulture and winemaking programs. The transfer of power from the KWV to a private business, further shifted the focus away from Paarl. However, the terrior driven wines of its wards the Franschhoek Valley and Wellington has revitalized interest in the area in recent years.
Cape Valley Manor is situated in Paarl and is dated back as far as 1853. Cape Valley Manor Guest House was restored and has a atmosphere to it that offers pure luxury, tranquility, privacy, security. The Manor is also furnished to a 4 star accomadation level. The interior is warm and spacious and combines the old yet stylish Victorian element with modern styles, this draws the attention to details and with the Manor restored it almost has a feeling of home to it.
